Maggie and Josh had a Thornberry Creek wedding reception, but they got married at St. Norbert, a church that was super special to them. When I first met these two, we clicked instantly. They went to the same university I did and both graduated with engineering degrees. It’s just a blast to be around them! I’m so excited to share their wedding day on the blog.
As everyone was getting ready, Maggie’s mom pulled out her wedding album. She had a photo of herself sitting in a red chair with her parents on either side. We recreated the photo with Maggie in the very same chair! I love moments like that where the story, emotion, and heirlooms come together.
Maggie also shared a sweet first look with her dad at the start of the day. It was incredibly touching and emotional. Many tears were shed! After that, we did some family photos in Maggie’s family’s backyard to capture this meaningful location.
Next, we made our way over to St. Norbert and the church on campus. It was a gorgeous ceremony. And since Maggie and Josh did not share a first look, Josh was just in awe as Maggie walked down the aisle. After a few family photos outside the old church, we wandered around campus to capture their portraits.
Their first dance was choreographed and so fun! But one of my favorite parts of the reception had to be the delicious cheesecake bar. What a fun, unique idea! The couple also had a local bakery make a pie using grandma’s recipe so they could have their all-time favorite dessert at the head table. Just wait until you see her reaction!
